Women football pulling it's straps up in Kenya.

by Under-14 Steering Committee

Women have often faced undue pressure from the society, when they engage in sporting activities. This is evidenced with the dismal performance of Kenyan women athletes and sporting icons. The group is susceptible to terminal involvement in sports once they conceive and start families.

But a small growing number of young girls from Majengo, just on the outskirts of the Central Business District, are defying this eventuality by vowing to stick determined to their sport of choice- in this case- football.

Just four of them namely; Naomi, Hanis, Pamela and Cindy train at the Landimawe grounds three times a week. The four have won the admiration of other women in the area who encourage them to pursue their footballing career. Men, too urges them to persist with their dreams.

Determination does not begin to define these ardent women footballers. Go Girls!!
